After retiring from full time international career in the oil/gas industry, I wanted to pursue my long term interest/hobby in patchwork and quilting. I love fabric and have a passion for bright colours. At first I started making quilts for family and friends and then I set up Quirky Quilts in 2010 as a vehicle to sell quilts. After many years of making quilts to commission, I am now focusing developing my art and making innovative contemporary wallhangings and quilts.

I am the co-convenor of the WAQA juried contemporary quilt exhibition stitched and bound. The 2022 exhibition has recently completed its regional tour and we are now preparing for the 2024 exhibition which will open in May 2024. I am still very much involved with the Contemporary Quilt Group (part of WA Quilters Association) in Perth – a group which I used to be a convenor of. I also assist in teaching patchwork and quilting at a WA Quilters Association (WAQA) Beginners class and run a small WAQA sewing group.
Inspired by all my quilting buddies, I also have great fun taking part in quilting challenges and entering competitions.

My recent inspiration has come from a 2 week Nancy Crow workshop which I attended at her Barn in the USA. It was a wonderful experience and I am booked in again for next year.
